30 feet
Reed Creek Falls is the largest of three waterfalls found along Reed Creek, a major tributary of the Chattooga River. This 30-foot waterfall lies in a remote area about 1.3 miles below the Hicks Creek confluence. Seeing it requires a very tough and long bushwhack from Burrells Ford Road (FR 646), with absolutely no trails through the dense rhododendron. Another possible way to access the falls would be via unofficial fishermens' trail along the Chattooga River from Russell Bridge on Highway 28 to Reed Creek. From here, one can bushwhack upstream along Reed Creek to this waterfall and Lower Reed Creek Falls. This bushwhack is just as tough, but the off-trail segment is slightly shorter.
