Rice Cabin Falls
Private Property
White County
Helen, GA
GPS Location:
PRIVATE
Waterfall Height:
350 feet
At over 350 feet high, Rice Cabin Falls is among the tallest waterfalls in North Georgia. It lies several miles west of Anna Ruby Falls on a small tributary of Smith Creek, tumbling down into a steep gorge. The stream has a small watershed, so Rice Cabin Falls is mainly impressive in wet weather. The waterfall drops in multiple steeply-sliding tiers, most of which lie on private property.
Only the very bottom portion of the falls is on Chattahoochee National Forest land. However, this portion is less spectacular, and a view of the main tier is unavailable without entering private land. Decades ago, a popular walk-in campsite was found at the top of the falls near Tray Mountain Road, but a private cabin has since been built in its place.
