Roach Mill Branch Falls is a scenic 40-foot waterfall located along Roach Mill Branch in a remote area north of Warwoman Road. Tumbling over colorful, foliated bedrock and bouncing from boulder to boulder, the structure of this waterfall is very picturesque. However, it suffers from a lack of viewing room due to a curtain of dense vegetation at the waterfall's base. I wonder who would have ever wanted to buy their grain from a place called Roach Mill?
Roach Mill Branch Falls is accessed by a lengthy, challenging bushwhack from Finney Creek Road (FR 152). Much of the hiking route follows a maze-like series of old logging roads, which become increasingly overgrown the farther you get from the main road, particularly after crossing Rock Mountain Creek. The total hike is about 1.9 miles each way.
