Slippery Rock Falls

Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park

Meriwether County
Warm Springs, GA

GPS Location:

32.86908, -84.69860

Waterfall Height:

8 feet

Slippery Rock Falls is the lowermost in a series of three waterfalls found along Wolfden Branch in Central Georgia's F. D. Roosevelt State Park. About 8 feet high, Slippery Rock Falls is really just a cascade but is arguably seen as a waterfall in this region of the state, because significant waterfalls are sparse here. The waterfall starts with a small cascade before spreading out in sliding fashion across a broad rock slab. It lies directly along the Wolfden Loop (Pine Mountain Trail), at 1.45 miles from the WJSP-TV Tower trailhead along Hwy 27-Alt. Slippery Rock Falls is located about 200 feet below Big Rock Falls and is passed enroute to Cascade Falls.
