Soquee River Falls is one of the most spectacular wilderness waterfalls in Northeast Georgia. It's located deep in the Tray Mountain Wilderness, lying in a remote gorge along the Left Fork Soquee River. The waterfall forms a powerful 75-foot drop over a magnificent rock face, which is usually full of water due to the river's large watershed. Soquee River Falls is the second waterfall on the Left Fork Soquee River. It lies 0.1 mile above the smaller lower falls.
To reach Soquee River Falls, you'll have to make a challenging cross-country hike from Odis Barron Road. Much of it is a low-level bushwhack and parts are navigationally challenging. The starting point lies at a gate on the west side of the Left Fork Soquee River road bridge. From here, one can follow a faint pathway along old logging roads upstream. The route fords the river at the Wolfpen Branch confluence, and twice more in the last quarter-mile before the falls. Soquee River Falls is approximately a 1.8-mile hike from Odis Barron Road.
