GPS Location:

Waterfall Height:
120 feet
The aptly-named Steep Creek tumbles very steeply into the Smith Creek gorge near Anna Ruby Falls, forming a set of steep waterfalls along the way. Steep Creek Falls is the largest waterfall on the creek, a near-vertical slide about 120 feet high. A 30-foot drop lies just below it. Additionally, two small drops lie above it, enshrouded in rhododendron. Farther downstream, closer to Anna Ruby Falls Road, is a separate lower falls on Steep Creek (about 50 feet in height).
In a Facebook album documenting the waterfalls of Steep Creek, Greg Ford references this waterfall as Adrenaline Falls. Accessing Steep Creek Falls requires a very difficult, strenuous bushwhack, which is mainly appropriate for hardcore waterfallers. That's probably what brought about Greg's waterfall name!
