Stroud Creek Falls

Swallow Creek Wildlife Management Area

Towns County
Hiawassee, GA

GPS Location:

34.88905, -83.66605

Waterfall Height:

40 feet

Stroud Creek Falls is a cascading 40-foot waterfall found in the upper reaches of Stroud Creek. The waterfall drops in multiple tiers, so its entire height is not fully visible from the bottom and is mainly seen through the trees.

Stroud Creek Falls lies about 1 mile from the end of Dismal Creek Road (FR 300) and can be reached via an old trail that starts at the gate. After 0.2 mile, a more overgrown trail forks right, crossing Dismal Creek and climbing steeply up the Stroud Creek valley. The trail follows an old logging road passing just above the falls, whose base can be reached with a bit of mild bushwhacking.
