Timpson Creek Falls

Private Property

Rabun County
Clayton, GA

GPS Location:

PRIVATE

Waterfall Height:

40 feet

Located just east of Lake Burton, Timpson Creek Falls is a spectacular 40-foot waterfall dropping in single-tier fashion into a deep pool along Timpson Creek. It lies nearly two miles above Lower Timpson Creek Falls. Unfortunately, Timpson Creek Falls lies on private property, just a couple hundred feet outside of the Chattahoochee National Forest boundary. In the past, people have accessed this waterfall via an unmarked path from Timpson Creek Road, but at the time, property records were erroneous and misleading regarding the precise location of the property boundary. The owners of Timpson Creek Falls have since confirmed that the waterfall is off-limits to the public and can only be visited with permission.
