Upper Cave Branch Falls

Swallow Creek Wildlife Management Area

Towns County
Hiawassee, GA

GPS Location:

34.88457, -83.68162

Waterfall Height:

120 feet

The headwaters of Cave Branch are home to an impressive wet-weather series of sliding waterfalls and cascades. The main part of Upper Cave Branch Falls is roughly 120 feet high, but the stream continues tumbling steeply down the mountain for quite a while. There is no trail to this part of Cave Branch, and it's best seen after heavy rain. Upper Cave Branch Falls can be accessed with a steep bushwhack up from the gated segment of Cynth Creek Road (FR 122). In Greg Ford's Facebook album, this waterfall is referenced as Determination Falls.
