Tumbling 100 feet in four spectacular tiers, Upper DeSoto Falls is a popular, family-friendly waterfall at the DeSoto Falls Recreation Area, located along US Hwy 19/129 near Turner's Corner. An excellent choice for casual hikers and tourists, the hike to Upper DeSoto Falls is 0.9 mile each way along a gentle, well-marked trail. A spacious wooden observation deck affords a direct overview of the falls.

According to legend, a piece of armor was left behind near DeSoto Falls by either Hernando DeSoto or one of his explorers during their mid-1500s expedition.
