Upper Mossy Cove Branch Falls
Swallow Creek Wildlife Management Area
Towns County
Hiawassee, GA
GPS Location:

Waterfall Height:
25 feet
Mossy Cove Branch features two waterfalls in a small, steep gorge along the southeast side of Chinquapin Ridge. Upper Mossy Cove Branch Falls forms a wide, split cascade of about 25 feet. Reaching it entails a harder bushwhack than the lower falls, and there isn't much room to move around for a view at the base. The waterfall can be reached via a steep 0.1-mile bushwhack down through a mountain laurel thicket, coming from Corbin Creek Road (FR 698) to the south. You will intersect an old logging road on the south side of Mossy Cove Branch. It likely climbs up from Corbin Creek but appears to also be a bushwhack.
