40 feet

Upper Patterson Creek Falls is the third waterfall found on Patterson Creek near Dillard. Located in the creek's uppermost reaches, this 40-footer is a nice sliding waterfall. It lies about 0.1 mile below the uppermost crossing of Patterson Creek along Patterson Gap Road (FR 32). The waterfall is off-trail and can be reached via a steep bushwhack. Intrepid waterfallers will first pass a small cascading waterfall just below the road. Additionally, a tributary joins Patterson Creek just below the main waterfall. This tributary forms its own small  waterfall a bit above the confluence.
