Upper Reed Creek Falls

Chattahoochee National Forest

Rabun County
Clayton, GA

GPS Location:

34.96235, -83.13668

Waterfall Height:

20 feet

Upper Reed Creek Falls is the first of three waterfalls found along Reed Creek, a major tributary of the Chattooga River. This waterfall lies about 0.9 mile above the Hicks Creek confluence. The main drop is about 20 feet, and a long sliding cascade continues downstream. Although Upper Reed Creek Falls lies very near Burrells Ford Road (FR 646), it requires a rhododendron-choked bushwhack down the steep hillside to reach.
