Upper Thomas Creek Falls

Chattahoochee National Forest

Rabun County
Dillard, GA

GPS Location:

34.96265, -83.31861

Waterfall Height:

25 feet

Upper Thomas Creek Falls is the third of five significant waterfalls along Thomas Creek, which is a major tributary of Darnell Creek near Dillard. This highly remote 25-foot waterfall lies in a rhododendron thicket within the upper reaches of Thomas Creek, upstream from the Darnell Shooting Range. Reaching it requires a tough bushwhack from Darnell Creek Road (FR 150). An old logging road along the north side of Thomas Creek passes near the falls, but it's very overgrown and is little better than no trail at all.
