Rabun County
Tallulah Falls, GA

GPS Location:

Waterfall Height:

50 feet

Located a mile northeast of Bad Creek, Worser Creek is a significant creek dropping extremely steep down the mountainside to Tugaloo Lake. Technically, the creek is unnamed on topographic maps, but it is referenced as "Wusser Creek" in the memoir Sound Wormy by lumberman Andrew Gennett. According to Gennett, surveyors named three western tributaries of the Chattooga River "Bad Creek," "Wuss Creek," and "Wusser Creek" in the year 1818. They could have hardly picked a better testament to the area's inaccessibility!

Worser Creek forms a long, nearly continuous series of waterfalls on its steep descent to Tugaloo Lake. Many of them are hard to view. The largest drop is a 50-footer described here as Worser Creek Falls, but bushwhackers will pass other drops as well. The waterfall is located in very steep, rugged terrain with no trails.
