Yellowback Mountain Falls
Chattahoochee National Forest
Stephens County
Toccoa, GA
GPS Location:
34.66083, -83.31692
Waterfall Height:
25 feet
This picturesque, lush 25-foot waterfall lies off-trail on a small unnamed creek draining the northern slopes of Yellowback Mountain. Trickling over a mossy cliff, Yellowback Mountain Falls can be especially scenic in wet weather. The creek eventually reaches Yonah Dam Road downstream before draining into the Tugaloo River. The waterfall is about 0.6 mile from the road and requires a tough bushwhack to reach. Greg Ford documented this waterfall with a Facebook album in 2021 and referenced it as Rejuvenation Falls in the post.
To learn about more waterfalls in the Toccoa area, see chapter 8 in Mark Ozboyd's "Waterfalls of Georgia" guidebook.
