Yoder Falls
Blood Mountain Wilderness
Lumpkin County
Dahlonega, GA
GPS Location:
34.71897, -83.94861
Waterfall Height:
40 feet
Located in a small gorge along Blood Mountain Creek, fan-shaped Yoder Falls makes a 40-foot drop with a right angle turn in the creek at the waterfall's base. A majestic cliff stands in front of the falls, with a seldom-used campsite adorning the flat area along its foot.
Yoder Falls is the third in a series of five waterfalls along Blood Mountain Creek. It lies about 1.5 miles upstream of the creek's lower two waterfalls, Funnel Falls and Boulder Falls. The waterfall memorializes Samuel Thomas Yoder, for whom it was a favorite place to hike. A memorial plaque is bolted to the cliff. Accessing Yoder Falls requires a long, strenuous off-trail bushwhack along Blood Mountain Creek from the end of Dicks Creek Road.
