Big Bend Falls

Waterfall Info: This is the most significant waterfall on the Chattooga River, a good portion of which flows along the South Carolina/Georgia state line (this waterfall is located directly on the border). Even though it's not tall, this waterfall is quite wide and powerful. There are additional rapids above the main waterfall.

County: Rabun
Access Info: This waterfall is accessed by a steep scramble path off the Chattooga River Trail south of Burrells Ford. Some of the best views to be had are from the Georgia side, requiring a crossing of the river. The Chattooga River Trail provides access to other waterfalls in South Carolina in this area, such as Spoonauger Falls, King Creek Falls, Pig Pen Falls, and Lick Log Falls.
