Buckeye Branch Falls

Picture
Photo of lower drop by Bernie Boyer
Waterfall Info: This is a multi-tier waterfall, shrouded in deadfall, at the head of a small gorge on Buckeye Branch as it drops steeply toward the Chattooga River. The two drops of similar height are separate but close together. The upper drop has heavy deadfall on it, while the lower drop is small but quite picturesque, framed by a beautiful rock overhang.
Landowner: Chattahoochee National Forest
Height: 25 Feet
Type: Double Sheer Drop (Double-Tier)
County: Rabun
Access Info: A trail begins at the end of Licklog Road (FS 9). The trail curves into the Buckeye Branch valley, but reaches Buckeye Branch well above the falls. You will need to make a short but steep bushwhack for about 0.1 mile down an overgrown ridge to the falls.
Waterfall Location: 34.85164, -83.26802
