Emerald Falls
Waterfall Info: This is the upper of two spectacular waterfalls located on an unnamed creek flowing from the west in the Holcomb Creek headwaters. Best seen in wet weather.
Landowner: Chattahoochee National Forest
Height: 60 Feet
Type: Double Sheer Drop (Double-Tier)
County: Rabun
Access Info: This falls is accessed by an cross-country off-trail hike from Hale Ridge Road (FS 7). It is not easy as there is challenging route-finding and some bushwhacking involved. A path from FS 7 leads to a crossing of Holcomb Creek, from where you might find a faint path or need to bushwhack the knob just east of Jewel Falls. From the knob, one must diagonally work their way above the cliff with Jewel Falls and follow the stream to Emerald Falls. The last part has a more well-defined path. Do not attempt to follow Holcomb Creek to Jewel Falls as the vegetation is impenetrable.
Waterfall Location: 34.979876, -83.289528
