Hurricane Shoals
Waterfall Info: Hurricane Shoals is a broad set of cascades spilling over granite bedrock in a geographically unusual location on the North Oconee River. The shoals are found minutes from I-85, just west of Commerce. Although I would argue whether Hurricane Shoals is truly a waterfall, its unique location merits its inclusion on this site. The shoals are the focal point of the small Hurricane Shoals Park, which is very popular with summertime recreationists and tubers. The county park charges a fee of $5 per vehicle.
