Magnificent Falls

Waterfall Info: Coming from the bottom, this is the second of three spectacular waterfalls on Devil Den Creek, a major tributary of lower Panther Creek. The waterfall is larger than it looks from the base (see second photo below).

Access Info: Follow a well-traveled trail from Panther Creek Road alongside Panther Creek to the confluence of Devil's Den Creek. Wade across Panther Creek, a possibly difficult ford at high water, and then bushwhack up the Devil's Den Creek valley for about a half-mile. The bushwhacking is pretty easy through open woods - you will want to stay on the east side of the creek most of the time but cross to the west side when the valley turns steeper. You will first come to Lower Magnificent Falls. Look for a way to scramble around that waterfall on the west side of the creek - it is a moderate climb through a little notch in the cliffs. Once you reach the top of Lower Magnificent Falls, you will instantly see Magnificent Falls straight ahead.
