Panther Creek Falls

Landowner: Chattahoochee National Forest
Height: 80 Feet
Type: Cascades, Slides, & Sheer Drop (Multi-Tier)
County: Habersham
Access Info: Hikers can reach Panther Creek Falls from either the parking area along Old Highway 441 near Clarkesville or the Yonah Dam Trailhead near Toccoa. The easiest approach is from the Old Hwy 441 trailhead, a moderate 7.2-mile roundtrip hike along the undulating Panther Creek Trail. The trail fords Panther Creek once along the way and passes 25-foot Upper Panther Creek Falls. The hike from the Yonah Dam Trailhead at the end of Panther Creek Road is shorter at 5.0 miles roundtrip. However, this latter route is more difficult with significant elevation change, eroded and narrow trail segments, and sharp dropoffs. In addition, a third approach exists via an unmarked shortcut trail from the end of Honey Stand Road to the north of Panther Creek.
