Shoal Creek Falls

Picture
Photo of upper tier by Ben Pulliam
Waterfall Info: This is a wet-weather waterfall in the headwaters of Shoal Creek near Stony Mountain. The waterfall is heavily covered in deadfall, but with good flow, the upper section is still scenic.
Landowner: Chattahoochee National Forest
Height: 65 Feet
Type: Free-Fall & Stairstep Cascade (Double-Tier)
County: Habersham
Access Info: An old, overgrown forest road begins at a curve along Low Gap Road at the coordinates (34.728315, -83.516916). The forest road leads all the way to Shoal Creek at the top of Shoal Creek Falls, but it is overgrown enough that it may be hard to follow and easier to bushwhack cross-country along the slopes a bit lower. Either way, the off-trail trek to this falls will be over a mile each way.
Waterfall Location: 34.729806, -83.506441
