Upper Roach Mill Branch Falls

Picture
Photo of lower section by Bernie Boyer
Waterfall Info: This is the second and upper waterfall on Roach Mill Branch, located at the 2,500-foot level. Although fairly large, this set of drops is overgrown and hard to see all at once. It is not worth much effort, and the waterfall at the 2,200-foot level (Roach Mill Branch Falls) is much more scenic.
Height: 40 Feet
Type: Sliding Cascades (Multi-Tier)
County: Rabun
Access Info: This falls is best accessed via a bushwhack from Finney Creek Road (FS 152), from the area where it briefly approaches the upper reaches of Rock Mountain Creek. Upper Roach Mill Branch Falls can also be accessed via a bushwhack from the logging road that leads to Roach Mill Branch Falls. Neither route is all that worthwhile.
Waterfall Location: 34.902267, -83.333085
