Yeti Falls
Waterfall Info: This is a large, multi-tiered waterfall on an unnamed tributary of Emery Creek that flows down from Little Bald Mountain and joins Emery Creek just below Emery Creek Falls. You can see all of the waterfall at once from a distance, but you'll get much better views if you scramble up to the two most scenic drops. The upper section that you can just barely see from the base is worth visiting. Two more waterfalls, Sidewinder Falls and Upper Yeti Falls, were later discovered by Brian Solomon higher up this creek (see their listings for more information).
Landowner: Chattahoochee National Forest (Cohutta Wildlife Management Area)
Height: 80 Feet
Type: Three Sheer Drops and Cascades (Multi-Tier)
County: Murray
Access Info: This waterfall is accessed by a short bushwhack from the side trail to Emery Creek Falls. As you're approaching Emery Creek Falls, look for a tributary joining Emery Creek on the left - it is visible well through a gap in the trees. Scramble down to Emery Creek and ford it here. Then, follow the River Left (east) side of the tributary for about 0.1 mile to the falls. There is a good long-range view of the waterfall on the west side of the tributary, but to get to the foot of the two best individual drops, you'll want to keep scrambling up the east side. The woods are fairly open so the bushwhacking is easy.
