Yonah Preserve Falls
Waterfall Info: This wide waterfall lies on Turner Creek just upstream from the lake in Yonah Preserve. A beautiful pool lies at the base.
Landowner: Yonah Preserve
Height: 25 Feet
Type: Sheer Drops (Double-Tier)
County: White
Access Info: From the Turner Creek bridge along Trail #250, a user-created trail follows Turner Creek upstream for about 0.1 mile to the waterfall. The trail is very wide, flat, and obvious almost to the waterfall. Once the slope gets steep about 100 feet below the falls, most people choose to rock hop along the creek's edge for the last bit. However, Yonah Preserve apparently has stricter regulations than National Forest, and with the trail being unofficial, it is considered unsustainable and its use has not been approved by the land manager. As of August 2023, the trail does not appear specifically closed, but things may change at some point. Future plans at Yonah Preserve include constructing a graded official trail to the waterfall. Additionally, rather than using the trail, people may choose to rock hop and wade along the flat creek from Trail #250 to the waterfall. This is easy at normal water levels. Yonah Preserve prohibits wading in the reservoir downstream of the waterfall. However, as of August 2023, the wading prohibition has not been extended to the creek. Please check Yonah Preserve rules for the latest updates.
