Zahnd Falls

Waterfall Info: This small but beautiful waterfall is located in the headwaters of the East Fork Little River on Lookout Mountain. A deep grotto lies beneath the overhanging cliff, allowing for plenty of room to walk behind the falls. A rare natural arch lies along the cliff about 150 feet northeast of the falls.
Landowner: Zahnd Wildlife Management Area (Zahnd Natural Area)
Height: 15 Feet
Type: Free-Fall (Single-Tier)
County: Walker
Access Info: Zahnd Falls can be reached by an easy hike from the gravel parking lot for Zahnd Wildlife Management Area along Highway 157. From the kiosk, follow the Pink Flagged Trail for 0.6 mile to a small stream crossing just above the falls. After this, a side path on the right descends to the falls. You can also make a small loop with the Blue Flagged Trail for a more scenic route, or hike the whole 2.6-mile Pink Loop to pass more unique rock formations, including several towering "hoodoo" pillars, as well as spectacular views. To access the views of Lookout Mountain & McLemore Cove without hiking the whole loop, simply take the trail across the road from the parking area and hike for 0.2 mile to the edge of the bluff line. A left turn on the trail along the bluffs leads to more views.
Note: you must purchase a Georgia Lands Pass, Hunting, or Fishing License online before the hike, since this is state owned WMA land. License are per-person only.
Waterfall Location: 34.650150, -85.475017
